CTC&G’s Editors Share Their Favorite Design Picks from ICFF
June 2018

Wallpaper Projects, a boutique design studio specializing in custom-fit, high-end, featured a fun collection of self-adhesive and pasted wallpaper. For ICFF with Collective Concept, Wallpaper Projects worked with Farrah Sit and created wallpaper with fiery washes of golden hues that rise from the fully covered floors to surround suspended stone and neon lights. Silver Studies is a wallpaper collection from experimental chemical paintings on photographic paper. Kin & Company is the Brooklyn design practice of cousins Joseph Vidich, architect with a deep knowledge of metalworking and fabrication, and Kira de Paola, an interior designer with a background in high-end furniture. “We take simple, fundamental geometry but always look for a moment to break or subvert the form,” says Joseph. The Diner wins Milan Design Award 2018 for Best Engagement

Some of the world’s most celebrated design brands contributed to the project. Spanish surfaces company Cosentino Group provided its products to construct the 14-meter-long central bar and banquet tables. Modern furniture company Design Within Reach, through its DWR Contract division, supported the project with its furniture. ARCHITECTURAL DIGEST DESIGN SHOW’S 20 BEST DESIGN PIECES

This collaborative modern room from Wallpaper Projects and Kin & Company is a winner for a number of reasons. The wall showcase what wallpaper has become. Much maligned for many years, wall coverings have re-emerged as a design darling because of new colors, textures and patterns, both abstract and not. The lighting and the furniture are clean-lined and geometric, made of interesting materials. The repetition of shapes and angles in the table and the other pieces is cohesive and creative. We round up our favorites from Collective Design Fair, showcased within Skylight Clarkson Square’s new deconstructed exhibition space.

With this year’s Collective Design Fair moving up to coincide with Armory Week from March 9-11th, the fair is showcased within Skylight Clarkson Square’s new deconstructed upstairs exhibition space. Below is a roundup of our favorite pieces.

Coil + Drift debuted their multidisciplinary project Unconscious Forms, which comprised of new Coil + Drift objects, a live performance installation, and an original short film by Charlie Schuck. The collection consists of the June Floor Mirror, Cirrus Double Pendant, and Rex Credenza.
